Terrace roof – Housese Dr. Wagenitz
The new build house in the north of Berlin has a strong and clear cubature with a symmetrical front facing south to the garden.
The architect formulated the idea, that there should be a light textile roof over the terrace contrasting and counter balancing the heavy building. This was achieved by small symmetrical sail with four high and two low points. Instead of vertical posts there are two horizontal struts held up by slender tension ties. The allowed an open view from the main living room into the garden and created light and airy textile structure.
